The National Institute of Educational Resources
and Research was established in 1956 under the Ministry of Education
as the competent authority for the research and promotion of educational
resources and audio/video educational materials at home and abroad.
NIOERAR was first situated in the Botanic Garden on Nanhai Road ,
Taipei City, and later on was relocated in October 2002 to its current
address in a response to organizational reform as well as the need
for overall development of the national education system. Today, with
its modern office building, NIOERAR continues its mission for the
research and promotion of education resources and have been taking
active measures to develop Taiwan Educational Resources Net, with
the aim of developing NIOERAR as an important educational database
that integrate physical and virtual resources in education policies,
education administration and instruction.
